At Ghollak, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and that we comply with all applicable data protection laws and regulations.

Information We Collect

• Financial Data: The data you store in Ghollak — such as account balances, transactions, categories, and checks — is stored locally on your device by default. If you choose to turn on the optional iCloud Sync feature, this data is also stored in your own private iCloud account so it can sync across your devices — see "iCloud Sync" below for details. This data is never transmitted to or stored on any servers operated by Ghollak.
• Device Information: We collect basic device information (such as device type and OS version) to improve app performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage statistics to enhance user experience and identify areas for improvement.
• Biometric Data: We use Face ID/Touch ID for authentication, but we never store or transmit your biometric data.
• Photo Library Access: We only access your photo library when you explicitly choose to attach a photo to a transaction.

iCloud Sync

iCloud Sync is an optional feature, available in the full version, that you can turn on in Settings. When enabled, the data you store in Ghollak — such as your accounts, transactions, and checks — is stored in your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so your data stays in sync across your devices signed into the same Apple ID. This data is protected by Apple's iCloud encryption and is never transmitted to or stored on any servers operated by Ghollak — as developers, we have no access to your private iCloud data. You can turn iCloud Sync off at any time in Settings; this stops new changes from syncing, but data already in iCloud is not automatically deleted.

Our Website

Our website, ghollak.app, uses Google Analytics (part of Firebase) for website analytics — to understand how the site is used, such as how many people visit it and which pages and buttons they use. It uses cookies in your browser for this. Website analytics are used only to improve the website and the way we present Ghollak; they are never used for advertising (Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off) and are not connected to the Ghollak app or to your financial data. Visitors in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are asked for consent first, and analytics only runs for them after they accept. You can also block these cookies in your browser settings or with a content blocker. If you send us a message through the website's contact form, your name, email address, and message are delivered to us through Formspree so that we can reply.
